Whippet XC / T&F Hall of Fame

WHIPPETS CROSS COUNTRY AND TRACK & FIELD PROGRAM

The purpose of the Downingtown West High School Cross Country & Track & Field Hall of Fame is to recognize, honor, and celebrate individuals and teams who have brought distinction to themselves and the Whippets XC/T&F program through significant contributions and achievements.

Any person may nominate an individual or team for consideration by the Whippets XC/T&F Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Below are the guidelines for nomination and selection:

1. Criteria for Eligibility

To be eligible, nominees must meet the following criteria:

A five (5) year waiting period following graduation from Downingtown West High School is required for student-athletes (special circumstances may be considered).
A two (2) year waiting period following the retirement of Coaches, Administrators, or Support Staff (special circumstances may be considered).
Outstanding contributions to the Whippets XC/T&F program, achieving high levels of success, distinction, and/or recognition.
Maintained an honorable and respectable reputation since leaving the Downingtown Area School District.
Teams and individuals associated with the program in any capacity (athlete, coach, administrator, supporter, etc.) may be considered.

2. Nomination Guidelines

As the nominator, you are asked to provide detailed information about the nominee, including:

Statistical records, accomplishments, and honors.
Contributions to the success and legacy of the Whippets XC/T&F program.
Additional achievements at the collegiate, amateur, or professional levels.

3. Selection Criteria

Candidates will be evaluated on the following:

Excellence during their time in the Whippets XC/T&F program.
Impact on the program’s success and reputation.
Longevity and significant achievements in their role.
Approval by a majority vote of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
